Materials can filter tracks ? lilens command ? rfdevice command ? reweightprocess command ? Remove MICEPhysicsList and LISAPhysicsList ? ntuple command now has union argument ? --disable-MPI now the default on all OSs ? Using geant4.9.4.p03 Plus numerous minor improvements and bug fixes (see doc/HISTORY.txt). This includes 32-bit builds for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows, plus a source distribution. I had hoped to include a 64-bit Linux build for FermiGrid, but that had to be postponed; the 32-bit build runs properly on FermiGrid login and worker nodes. As usual, send any questions or comments to me. We need to prepare an agenda, and I am soliciting suggestions for talks about cooling. Please send me (Reply, not ReplyAll) a title or brief description of what you would like to talk about. All aspects of cooling are of interest, especially Final Cooling. This includes the related components such as charge separation and recombination, bunch coalescing, etc. Tom Roberts From bross at fnal.gov Thu Jan 5 13:48:28 2012 From: bross at fnal.gov (Alan Bross) Date: Thu, 5 Jan 2012 12:48:28 -0600 Subject: [MAP] MAP Meeting Today Message-ID: <004101cccbda$9d6717b0$d8354710$@fnal.gov> Dear All, There will a meeting tomorrow, January 6, on the design of a Be-Wall cavity. Mark is a well-known and respected accelerator physicist who comes to Fermilab from Cornell University, where he has led the CESR Test Accelerator (CESRTA) program since its inception, as the CESRTA Project Director and Co-PI. This work followed naturally from his work on International Linear Collider damping ring studies, for which he is presently the working group co-convener. Mark brings with him tremendous experience in carrying out a very challenging R&D program in a collaborative environment. He has broad research interests and experience that I am confident will serve the Program and Collaboration well. Mark will start work immediately as Director, on a part time basis, as he makes the transition from Cornell University to Fermilab. I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to Steve Geer and Mike Zisman for their leadership in developing and directing the Muon Accelerator Program and in its successful beginnings. Please join me in welcoming Mark to this new position and new challenge. All details can be found at the meeting web site: https://www-conf.slac.stanford.edu/mapwinter2012/ The full 5 day program will cover the three main technical areas of MAP, the International Design Study for a Neutrino Factory, and Project X. Beginning at 3pm on Wednesday March 7 and continuing through Thursday March 8 the program focuses on the physics and detectors of the muon collider and its machine detector interface. The program committee has been working on the scientific agenda and the current version is linked to the web page. Conveners of all sessions are identified. Please contact one of them if you desire to give a presentation and are not yet on the agenda. The meeting will take place in the Kavli Auditorium (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) and the Panofsky Auditorium (Wednesday). Maps of the SLAC campus with the meeting rooms indicated are linked to the site. Advance registration for either the full 5 day meeting or the 1.5 day physics & detectors part of the meeting is required. The social program consists of a reception and poster session on the evening of the first day and a group dinner on Wednesday March 7. Details are described on the relevant links. You can sign up for these events through the registration page. As the meeting begins Sunday, when the SLAC cafeteria is closed, there is also the option of ordering a lunch for that day. If you do plan to present a poster, please send an email to the conference organizer by replying to this email or by using one of the links provided on the web site. A block of 30 rooms for the MAP meeting has been reserved at the Stanford Guest House, on the SLAC site. The block reservation expires on February 2 and is independent from the meeting registration. Details of how to reserve these rooms, as well as links to lists of off-site accommodations are provided. You are encouraged to book early to guarantee space.
