ICOOL

Welcome to the new home for ICOOL. Up through 2012, ICOOL was written and maintained by Rick Fernow. J. Scott Berg will be maintaining ICOOL starting in 2013. Please inform me of any bugs, feature requests, etc. A ZIP file of the latest ICOOL (version 332) is available here, along with a PDF of the documentation for that version. The ZIP file contains the ICOOL source and source code for some auxiliary programs, a UNIX Makefile, Windows executables for ICOOL and ECALC9F (32 and 64 bit), and a PDF file for the documentation.

Version 332

The main change in this release is an updated random number generator which should have better statistical properties than the previous one, including independence of the random streams generated by different seeds. Most other changes are relatively minor, except for one bug that could cause bad behavior depending on what compiler and compilation options you use. Other changes:

The last three of these changes I have ported backward to earlier releases of ICOOL back to 320. The last change can create can create significant problems in some circumstances, so I recommend that everyone upgrade to one of these versions. I'm numbering these releases with a .1 at the end. Here are ZIP files for all the releases:

The ZIP files contain the ICOOL source and source code for some auxiliary programs, a UNIX Makefile, Windows executables for ICOOL and ECALC9F, and a PDF file for the documentation. I have supplied 32 bit and 64 bit Windows executables, though the 64 bit executable seems to only provide modest performance benefits.

Older versions

Several of Rick's most recent versions can be found here. Rick had some final patches to version 330, and I am calling that version 331, which is in this ZIP file. The main change was an update to the delta ray logic.
